Day 1: Johannesburg – Maun – Moremi Game Reserve
Today you will leave Johannesburg early for Maun where you will board a flight into the Xakanaxa area of the Moremi Game Reserve, where you spend 2 nights in a bush camp on the banks of the Khwai River. This area is considered to be one of the most beautiful parts of Africa and this is where the sands of the Kalahari Desert meet the waters of the Okavango.
After you have settled in to your safari accommodation and had time to refresh, you can enjoy afternoon tea and the sunset game viewing activity. Later, you can sit down to a delicious dinner around the camp fire and savour your first night in the wilderness.
Day 2: Moremi Game Reserve
This morning begins with an early wake-up call accompanied by a snack and tea or coffee. You head out with your guide to explore this incredibly diverse area of floodplains and woodland, lagoons and Islands. This is a prime game viewing area with a strong population of predators. After an exciting morning, you will return to the safari camp for brunch and some rest and reflection.
Okavango activities are based on the concept of land and water, with game drives and boat cruises providing ideal ways for you to make the most of this area and experience the best game viewing. After resting up in the heat of the day you will set off on an afternoon activity before returning to the bush camp for dinner and cocktails under beautiful night skies.
Day 3: Moremi Game Reserve – Okavango Delta
Today you will transfer to the South-Western region on a short flight over the Delta, where you will spend the next 2 nights. The seasonal floodplains of the South-Western Okavango Delta offer a land of great drama and exceptional beauty which you will discover on a range of activities. The remote bush camp is in a private concession which allows for more flexibility in the activities.
Day 4: Okavango Delta
After an early morning call and refreshments, you will set off on a game viewing activity. Your bush guide will explain the intricacies of this unique region and more about the African animals that live here. There is a strong population of wildlife in the area including grazers and predators allowing for the opportunity of seeing some dramatic interactions.
You will return to the safari camp for brunch after which you can decide on a siesta or to do some fresh-water fishing. You could choose an afternoon activity which you have not yet done so that you get an overall view of the Okavango. A sundowner drink in the bush, surrounded by the sounds of Africa, is truly one of the most amazing experiences.
Day 5: Okavango Delta - Maun – Johannesburg
This if the final day of your Classic Moremi Wildlife Encounter Safari. This morning you will have the opportunity for a last game drive and breakfast in the Okavango.
You will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Maun and the onward connection to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport.

This 5 day Okavango package includes flights ex/ to Johannesburg and is calculated for 2 guests sharing in en-suite accommodation, fully inclusive of meals, game viewing activities and the light aircraft flights ex/to Maun.
The Rates are based on the high season and may vary depending on the season and daily currency exchange rate. This Botswana package can also be combined with a stay at Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls.
